Family Pictures

So my family has never had a family picture done, that I can remember.  We've tried a number of times but have never been successful in getting one actually printed. The problem is my dad is very picky and we have never been able to find a photographer who he likes.  I am happy to say that I was finally successful in accomplishing this goal!  I found a photographer that was very reasonably priced and would give us the rights to the negatives. So I arranged to have pictures taken at Red Butte Gardens in October.  We got the CD with the pictures back about a month ago and let me tell you they are adorable!  I love them and guess what so does my dad.  If any one is looking for a photographer check him out, his name is Stephen Bair and he amazing.  He was so patient with the girls and my dad.  His web site is www.Bairphoto.com.  Here are a few shots from the sitting.

Thanksgiving and Utah Football

Thanksgiving at our house is always filled with family, food and football. This year was no different.  Beth and her family drove down from Santa Maria to spend the holiday with us.  At the beginning of the football season I begged my family for the two extra tickets to the BYU game for the Beth and Scott.  So we got Beth up to the game and in her seat without to much of a hassle, although I hear the newspaper guy was kinda of cranky in the elevator. What a game, I was really worried about it this year and didn't know what to expect.  Well the team really came through, they played their best football this year and ran all over BYU!  The Utah fans voted Max hall the MVP.  Go Utes on to the BCS!!

Thanksgiving day was filled with food and fun. The turkey didn't want to cooperate with us and didn't cook all the way.  We took what was cooked and put it back in the oven.  It never really completely cooked all the way.  But Grandma Dahl and I decided we really don't need a turkey, we had tons of food and were all full without it.  After dinner we went up to Aunt Mary Ann's for pie and games.  It was great to see the cousins and visit.  It was a very exhausting day.
Friday morning, I got up at 4:30 and went to the sale at target.  I got some good deals and was back in bed by 7:30 am.  After breakfast we went back to Grandma's house and played some football.  That afternoon the grown up girls we and saw Twilight the movie.  It was great (although Erin didn't like it much, she is a bit obsessive.)

All in all it was a great holiday, now for Christmas.

Congratulations Dad!!!

Garrit finally received his score for the last CPA exam and he passed!!! Yea, Clara and I couldn't be happier, we finally get daddy back!  I threw Garrit a surprise party on Friday and totally pulled it off.  For those of you who know Garrit well you know this was quite a feat. I called Garrit at noon and told him I was really sick and I was going to head home.  I told him he had to Clara after work.  At 3:00 he called and told he was having Erin pick up Clara because he was going to have to work late.  I almost had a heart attack! So I pulled the sick card again, I called him at 4:00 and asked him how late he was going to work, and wined about how sick I was and could he get home so I didn't have to deal with Clara.  He said he could probably leave at 5:30/6:00 (Which was fine cause that was when I planned on him being home).  So when he finally showed up at home I had Erin make up a story about being in the back with the girls and she brought him around back and SURPRISE!! He totally jumped and was completely shocked!  We had a great time with our friends and family!  (And by the way Garrit, you totally deserve the pat on the back!)

Go Utes!!!

The University of Utah played Oregon State on October 2, of course we were there in our seats for the whole game.  I feel sorry for those fans who decided the game was over and left.  With 2:12 left in the game we were down by 8 ( I have to admit I was thinking about packing it up, but as Baba says we don't leave until its 0:00 you never know what will happen).  We got the ball and marched it down the field 60 yards for a touch down, so what do you do?  Go for 2 of course!  Got an interference call and then Brian Johnson our quarterback ran it it for the two point conversion.  Oregon State had the ball and our amazing defense forced a 3 and out!! So we got the ball back and marched it down the filed again with 0:01 left on the clock our kicker Louie Sakoda kicked a field goal and the Utes won the game 31-28!  It was an amazing end to an awesome game.  My voice is still shot from screaming.
